Entering into a social media campaign can be daunting, especially if you’ve never done it before. The best strategy does not mean being active on as many social media channels as possible. Here are some tips to consider before you add social media as part of your marketing campaign:
- What social media channel(s) is your target market using? But more than that, who are most likely to engage with you?
- Identify your goal. Is it to grow an audience, launch a product, drive sales, etc.?
- What is the best way to promote your message? Is it by imagery, video, surveys, etc.? Determining this will help identify which social media channel(s) will work best. For example if it’s video – YouTube, Facebook and blogs are possible options.
- How much of a budget and time do you have to make the campaign effective? Do you or your staff have enough time to make posts and be responsive to comments and feedback? If not, do you have the monetary resources to hire an outside firm to do this for you? Should you choose to run paid ads on these social media channels, do you have the budget to invest in them?
